More on Blissology
I came away pretty tired after a week of disrupted schedule and sleep pattern. We spent our mornings at a Blissology Workshop, working hard at Vinyasa Yoga that my poor body is not accustomed to and, learning about the Blissology Project.
However, this morning, when I was at the gym for my regularly scheduled Sculpting class, I noticed a change. There was a change in my posture which translated into an ease as I was lifting the weights overhead. I was aware of my alignment even before glancing in the mirror. That's a HUGE thing for me.
I keep looking at those retreats... just a dream...

"Being busy is not always a virtue"
( from Eoin Finn's Happiness Map)
Hmmm....
I'm beginning to see that.
Sometimes, we just need to be still, and just be...
I think the huge popularity Yoga enjoys in North America is due to that fact.
We value achievement, success in careers, business and busyness in general and that takes its toll on us.
It translates into rushed meals, grabbing fast food or prepared meals at the supermarket, it translates into stress, a permanent state of hurry and the inability to relax.
When you are, not only allowed but, encouraged to lie still at the end of your yoga class you find rest and relaxation are not to be frowned upon...
When you are finally able to relax your shoulders (if only temporarily), you realize that you've been tense all day (week, years?).
Let Blackberrys rest during Shavasana...

Spelt Muffins with Sour Cherries and Chocolate
Spelt Muffins with Sour Cherries and Chocolate - sounded irresistible ...
just had to try. They are good but, perhaps owing to the spelt, are a bit heavy and somewhat dense...
I'd probably try them with wholewheat/unbleached mix next time.

Another Winter Day
I was determined to take some pictures today . It was difficult though, as the weather changed so rapidly. We had sunshine, then sunshine with a blizzard, then a near white-out, followed by partial sunshine...
I used it on our lunch- some roasted little trees:) , or rather, cauliflower.
My new acquisition:
a very pretty, peach coloured finishing salt:)

Farro
For my first Farro experience I made Martha Rose Shulman's Wheat Berry and Tomato Salad.
(you can substitute farro for the wheat berries.)
Fresh-tasting and very satisfying after a workout.
The sunsets were truly unremarkable both yesterday and today... In fact, our sunrises did not look different either...

Decisions
I am trying to figure out whether I want this to be strictly a sunset-blog. Maybe I'll add 101 dinner ideas... It would be a good way to keep my recipes in rotation...
Lets see how it goes.
Today's meal:
Dill and Cheese Strudel
- Whole Wheat Phyllo
- 1 lb low fat Cottage Cheese
- 1/2 cup Yogurt or Sour Cream
- 1 egg
- lots of dill
Salt mixed with Olive Oil and Water
4 Sheets of Phyllo (brushed with Oil/Water mix) layered with Cottage Cheese mix. Repeat, finishing with Phyllo.
Bake @ 375 F
I definitely need to work on presentation... it's a bit sloppy.
Let me add a sunset photo for good measure:
It looks cold, doesn't it?

101 Sunsets

Because Blogger did not accept 1001 as a title:)
and because I like Dalmatians
